Huipil Ceremonial el Quetzal

This beautiful Huipil is formed by two hand-made pieces on a back strap loom, each piece is formed with different birds and between one of them there is a very important one that is the green and red Quetzal that is the National Bird of Gutemala and also has beautiful flowers and geometric figures.

This Huipil is woven on both sides so it is Ceremonial and is used at weddings, the bride wears this important white huipil for that special day, they also use it for other very important events.

It was woven approximately in the 1980s with cotton material. It took eight months for its elaboration.

The language spoken in that village is Kakchiquel.
